THEY COULDN'T SEE

The war went on
Went on for several years.
Went on ignoring
All our human tears.

All the great war lords
Played their game of war
While all the lesser people
Were forced to suffer more.

They all claimed they'd stop it.
None of them even tried.
All they did was stand there
While all their soldiers died.

The war went on for several years
The armies dwindled down.
Till all the kingly war lords
Were stripped of bloody crowns.

They battled then among themselves
At least those left alive.
Look at all the lives they took
But still they did survive.

But, in all their foolishness
They managed to join the rest.
In all their blindness they couldn't see
No one can forcibly be best.

To be the best or better
You need love and an open heart.
But it seems all those people
Had been slaughtered from the start.

So now all you lords of war
You rulers over men.
You had to fight as children
And caused the world to end.
